Listen to Example’s new single ‘Stay Awake’

If you were addicted to Example’s infectuous recent number 1 hit ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’ you’ll be pleased to know that we have his new single ‘Stay Awake’ for your listening pleasure.

The new track, taken from his much anticipated new album ‘Playing In The Shadows’ out in September is a beauty and will silence the doubters who perhaps thought he couldn’t follow up his number 1 hit with a belter.

‘Stay Awake’ is produced by dubstep lords Nero and will certainly ingrain itself on your brain – you have been warned! Penned after waking up at Ibiza Rocks and seeing hundreds of kids still going from the night before Example says the track is ‘about a messed up generation who spend all their money on partying and questioning whether or not it’s right. We spend all our money to stay awake the longest’.

Regardless of what he says we’re banging this tune on and having a dance. If you like the track it’s out 28th August

Introducing #1 – Toujours

As part of a new feature we will be ‘introducing’ fresh acts that are rocking our world, floating our boats or generally just making us giddy! The first act we would like to introduce is Toujours.

Toujours a.k.a Erik Jourgensen hailing from East Bay, USA offers us a selection of chilled out subliminal class. His “June ’11″ mix is utterly sublime and we suggest you listen to his work now, because we are loving it. This mix is definitely short at just over eleven minutes, but we’ll take quality over quantity anyday. Let us know what you think…..

Howling Bells return with new album – preview new track

One of our faves – Howling Bells are back on the scene and we couldn’t be happier. The band have linked up with The Killers’ Mark Stoermer who has produced their new album, ‘The Loudest Engine’ in Viva Las Vegas.
This, the third album from the band is set to be a ‘killer’ – pardon the pun. Out 12th September on Cooking Vinyl, the album is the sequel to 2009′s Radio Wars and is described as psycadelic and raw, and a result of the band’s time on the road.

See what you think by listening to the title track “The Loudest Engine” below. We are big fans…..

Howling Bells – “The Loudest Engine”

Howling Bells first linked up with The Killers’ Mark Stoermer on tour together, the two groups bonded over their love of similar music. When the band began planning the recording of their latest project at the tail end of summer 2010, The Killers’ bassist was the first person on speed dial.

With 30 fresh demos under their belt the finishing touches where added and tracks fleshed out to form this new masterpiece, the results are more mature and refined than their earlier work.
